2026 context: Manitoba was allocated 6,239 provincial nominations for 2026 (up from 4,750 in 2025). Draws are mostly occupation-specific or strategic-recruitment based, so a strong EOI score helps but does not guarantee an invitation on score alone.

What Is the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)?

The MPNP allows Manitoba to nominate skilled workers, international graduates, and business investors for Canadian permanent residency. Manitoba’s Skilled Worker stream uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) system where candidates are scored and ranked based on their potential to settle and work successfully in the province.

The MPNP Skilled Worker stream is divided into two pathways: Skilled Workers in Manitoba (for those already working in the province) and Skilled Workers Overseas (for candidates outside Manitoba with a connection to the province). The maximum EOI score is 1,000 points, with Manitoba connections and language proficiency carrying the most weight.

Why Choose Manitoba?

Manitoba offers one of Canada’s most accessible immigration pathways. Winnipeg, the capital, has a significantly lower cost of living compared to Toronto or Vancouver, with affordable housing and a strong job market in manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and technology. Manitoba also has a large and supportive immigrant community, making settlement easier for newcomers.

Manitoba MPNP Calculator — FAQ

What EOI score do I need for Manitoba MPNP?
Manitoba draws candidates regularly with varying cutoff scores. Recent EOI draws have mostly run occupation-specific or strategic-recruitment draws (for example, Draw #269 targeted Health occupations and Draw #270 targeted teaching occupations) rather than simple score-ranked draws — so a strong EOI score improves your odds but does not guarantee an invitation on score alone.
Do I need a Manitoba connection to apply?
For the Skilled Workers Overseas pathway, you need either a close relative in Manitoba, previous work or education in the province, or an invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative. For the Skilled Workers in Manitoba pathway, you must be currently employed in the province.
Can I apply to Manitoba MPNP through Express Entry?
Yes. Manitoba has a pathway aligned with Express Entry. If nominated, you receive 600 additional CRS points. You can also be nominated through the direct MPNP pathway, which does not go through Express Entry.
How long does the MPNP process take?
After receiving a Letter of Advice to Apply, you have 60 days to submit a complete application. Manitoba aims to process nominations within 3–6 months. The overall timeline from EOI submission to PR is typically 12–18 months.
What occupations are in demand in Manitoba?
Manitoba has strong demand for healthcare workers (nurses, care aides), truck drivers, IT professionals, skilled tradespeople (welders, electricians), food processing workers, and agricultural workers. Occupations in these fields receive priority in MPNP draws.
